A walk through a reddish gorge, where each geological formation carved by the wind and water gives us beautiful postcards of the foothills, a well-deserved prelude to Cafayate, heart of the Calchaquí Valley where the sun always shines and the best high altitude wine awaits you.
DESCRIPTION
We will travel to the city of Cafayate, the land of sun and wine, located in the Calchaquí Valley, 180 km from the capital of Salta, through one of the most impressive and renowned routes of Northern Argentina.
We will leave from the city of Salta, traveling through the center and south of the Lerma Valley, and then enter the Quebrada de las Conchas Natural Reserve. A 90 km low cornice road takes us through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills, where orange and red predominate. Here we will find geoforms carved by Mother Nature such as La Garganta del Diablo, El Anfiteatro, Las Ventanas, Los Castillos, La Yesera, El Sapo, etc.
In Cafayate you will have the chance to visit a winery, with tastings of the best wines of the area. Although the region always refers to Torrontés, the place has a large number of hectares dedicated to red grapes such as Malbec, Tannat or Cabernet Suavignon. After lunch we return to Salta by the same route.
During the tour there are stops to walk and take pictures!

TIPS
We recommend wearing sunglasses, sunscreen, sneakers, comfortable clothes for walking. Carry water to stay hydrated and avoid stagnation. We recommend visiting the Vine and Wine Museum and the Cathedral. Restaurants for lunches at the destinations are at the passengers' choice. Meals are not included. The vehicles used are 12 and 15 passenger vans or 19, 28 or 45 passenger minibuses. Equipped with air conditioning, heating and USB ports. Departure for the excursions can be by pick up from your hotel, at different meeting points or from the local operator's office in case of using the Bus with capacity for 46 pax starting at 6:00 a.m. (you will be informed the day before your excursion).
